MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg Baseball team played host to St. Mary's College on Sunday for a conference double-header showdown. Strong play carried over from Saturday in all three phases of the game, earning the team victories in both games. Here's how things played out:
Game 1
The first game started off quickly in what appeared to become a pitcher's duel between starters Mark Artley and Zach Thompson. The first run of the game would not be scored until the top of the fifth inning, when Seahawks' hitter Dane Pepper singled in a runner from second base on a shot to left field. 1-0 Seahawks
In the bottom of the sixth inning, things really began to unwind for St. Mary's starter. Thompson would lose his command and allow the Blue and White to score five runs before getting pulled for reliever Graham Haliskoe, who would fare not better. Before the inning was over, another five runs would cross home plate. A bases-loaded walk issued to Zachary Koroneos would get things going for the Lions. They would be followed by a 2 RBI double from Ethan Kell, and an RBI groundout, courtesy of Justin O'Dell. After being pulled, Thompson would be on the hook for an RBI single by Jackson Struve. A 2 RBI single from Tyler Aug, followed by a three-run homerun off the bat of Bret Williams would round out the monster inning. 10-1 Lions
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Scott Angstadt Jr. would add insult to injury, smacking an RBI single to right field that would score David Klein from second base. 11-1 Lions

Game 2
Penn State Harrisburg's offense would get off to a much quicker start in the second game of the day, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning off opposing starter Ben Goldsmith. All five of the runs scored would come with two outs, and by way off the long ball. A two-run blast by Josh Brubaker would be followed three at-bats later by a three-run dinger, courtesy of Tylar Aug. 5-0 Lions
The Seahawks would not waste any time cutting into the home team's lead, however, scoring three of their own in the top of the second inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, Brandon Snow would single in the runner from third base. A fielding error by SS Alex Cline in the following at-bat would result in two more runs coming home. 5-3 Lions
The Lions would tack on another run in the bottom of the fourth inning. With one away, David Klein hit in to a fielder's choice. The out would be recorded at second base, but David Klein, who started the at-bat at third base, would reach home plate. 6-3 Lions
A fielding error by 2B Jackson Stuve in the top of the fifth inning would allow the opponents to get a run back. Jay Hammett, positioned at second base at the start of the maligned play, would be able to finish his trip around the bases and score. 6-4 Lions
With two outs and a man on third base in the bottom of the fifth inning, Zachary Koroneos would come through in the clutch for his ballclub, singling in the run on a hit to right field. 7-4 Lions
Alex Cline hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the team up by five. 8-4 Lions
A Lucas Kraft single in the top of the eighth inning would be St. Mary's final attempt at a rallying cry. Joe Bavaro would score from third base on the hit, but it would be the final run for the Seahawks, and for the game. 8-5 Lions
