Penn State Harrisburg Takes Down the Falcons

Penn State Harrisburg traveled to take on Messiah College in a non-conference match-up of South Central Pa. foes.  The Lions took down the Falcons on Monday April 28th by a final score of 4-0.

This is the first time these two teams met in program history on the diamond.  Harrisburg took the win due to a strong pitching performance from Will Chaney (Lancaster, Pa/ Lampeter-Strasburg).  Chaney pitched a complete game only allowing three hits while striking out seven. The Lions were able to get on base during most of the game, stringing together 11 hits.  The Lions scored one run in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th innings showing a strong line-up where 8 out of 9 hitters collected at least one hit. Leading the way at the plate for the Lions was Tom Denniston (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) who went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Josh Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa/ Lancaster Christian) who also had two RBIs on the day.

The Lions will look to continue their last week of the season when they travel to Gallaudet Tuesday, April 28th , for their last double header of the season starting at 2 p.m.
