Penn State Harrisburg Takes Conference Finale

Middletown, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg took on Wesley College in their final conference game of the year. The Lions where able to beat the playoff bound Wolverines by a score of 4-3.

Harrisburg entered the game already out of the playoff picture but would not let that stop them from playing their hardest.   Wesley jumped out first, scoring in the top of the first to take the 1-0 lead. The Lions would answer back scoring in the bottom of the second off an RBI single by Cody Henry (Halifax, Pa. / Halifax) to tie the game at one apiece.

After two scoreless innings the Blue and White stepped up, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 5th. The Lions where able to take advantage of two costly errors from Wesley and with some aggressive base running helped take the lead 4-1.  The Wolverines answered back in the next inning scoring two to bring the game within a single run. From there the pitching performance from the Chaney Brothers took over, after 7.1 innings from Will Chaney (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg), Tom Chaney (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) came in to finish the game only allowing a single hit in the 1.2 innings he pitched.

The Blue and White will look to improve on their overall record as they enter their final 13 games of the season. The Lions will be in action next this upcoming Tuesday April 12th when Penn State Altoona comes to town to play a double header starting at 1 P.M.
