Lions Fall at Diamond Nation

Farmington, NJ. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team fell to Muhlenberg University 8-6 in a game played at Diamond Nation in Farmington, NJ. Monday March 23rd.

The Lions came into the game looking to bounce back from a tough weekend after losing back to back conference double headers.  The Lions jumped out early knocking a run across thanks to a sacrifice fly courtesy of Tom Chaney (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) in the first.  The Mules tied it up in the bottom half of the inning and then took the lead in the 2nd to go up 2-1.

Penn State Harrisburg pushed hard in the top of the 4th to regain the lead by scoring three runs with Kyle Buchmen (Orefield, Pa. / Notre Dame) and Tom Denniston (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) doing the damage for the Lions.  Harrisburg used the momentum to help increase their lead in the top of the 6th adding two more runs to take a 6-2 lead.

The Mules came storming back scoring again with two runs in the sixth, three in the seventh and one more in the eighth to take an 8-6 lead needing just three more outs for the win.   Muhlenberg was able to then hold off the Lions in the top of the ninth to end the game on top.

The Lions will look turn things around this Wednesday March 25th, when they travel to take on Capital Athletic Conference opponent Wesley starting at 3:30 p.m.
