Harrisburg Falls on the Road

The Penn State Harrisburg men's baseball fought back from an early deficit, but was not able to come home with the victory against Penn State Altoona.  Harrisburg being known for getting early scores in games did it again leading in the top of the first inning 1-0.  Altonna was able to take advantage as well in the first inning putting up 5 runs, making this there most productive inning.

The Harrisburg team was able to show the fight in there team and not give up by having solid pitching  in the sceond through fifth innings thanks to a clean sheet from Derek Slagel (York Haven, Pa. / Red Land).   In the 3rd inning   Logan Hall (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) was able to score off of a double play to help narrow lead for Altoona.   In the top of the 6th Harrisburg showed promise that they could come back and beat a good Altoona team.  Troy Tabor (Park Ridge, N.J. / Park Ridge) got the team off to a good start by hitting a homerun to right field.   Travis Crammer (Cerritos, Cal. / Cerritos) was then able to score off an unearned error to help close the lead down to 1 run.  Altoona was not able to keep their poise and gave up another error which was able to advance Bryan Balshy (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra) to tie up the game.

With such a great inning produced by Harrisburg, Altoona was able to regain the lead by putting up 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th.  Penn State Harrisburg was not able to have the same production in the last inning, but it was a good fight to the end. 

Game two was earily similiar as Harrisburg foundthemselves at the bottom of a tight contest 8-5.
