Middletown Pa. - Harrisburg's Travis Crammer (Cerritos, Cal / Cerritos) and Brian Balshy (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra) each went yard once in their double header match up against the SUNY IT Wildcats.  The Lions won the first game 6-1 and the late afternoon game 4-1.  

The Blue and White started the day strong and were in control the entire afternoon.  Dustin Rutt (Ephrata, Pa. / Ephrata) led the defensive effort in the first game throwing for a complete game and only giving up four hits. 

Offensively the Lions got started early scoring 4 runs in the first inning thanks for the top of the order wasting no time putting the ball in play and brining in base runners.  Balshy kept things going in the second inning with a 2 run shot, his fifth of the season.  Crammer also continues to smash the ball and notched his seventh HR of the year in the bottom of the fourth inning with a huge shot over the left field wall. 

The Lions defensive effort kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard until the top of the seventh when they gave up a charity run to the visitors to finish the game with a 7-1 win. 

Sophomore Will Chaney (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) took the mound in game two.  According to him, he "couldn't find his curve", but after watching his complete game for his third win of the year, I am sure there are at least 5 Wildcat batters who faced him and struck out that would disagree. 

The Lions hitters got another early lead scoring one run in the second, two in the third, and their final run in the fourth inning.  Big hitters for game two were Colton Houseal (Maytown, Pa. / Donegal) who went 2-4 and  John Cataldo (Pine Grove, Pa. / Pine Grove) who has been producing great outcomes hitting from the eighth spot for his 2 singles, 1 run, and an RBI.

The lions have now extended their win streak to 12.  I promise to stop writing about it when they give one up, hopefully sometime in May.  The lions host Penn College of Technology on Tuesday.
