Lions Lead Conference With 132 NEAC Scholar-Athletes

LATHAM, N.Y. – A school-record 132 Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes have earned 2020-21 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Penn State Harrisburg's total was tops in the conference. Lancaster Bible was the only other NEAC member institution to have 100-plus student-athletes (111) achieve the honor this season.

To earn the conference's academic distinction, a student-athlete competing in a conference-sponsored sport must achieve a combined grade point average (GPA) of 3.4 or higher for the fall and spring semesters, while remaining in good standing on his or her team.

Women's basketball had the highest percentage of student-athletes earn the honor with 14 of the team's 15 players recognized (93 percent), while men's basketball recorded the highest percentage among men's teams with 11 of 15 players earning the distinction (73 percent).
