Date Set For 8th Annual Penn State Harrisburg Athletics Golf Tournament

Middletown, PA - Polish off your golf clubs and hit the greens with Penn State Harrisburg Athletics. The 8th annual Penn State Harrisburg golf tournament presented by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 at both the Harrisburg Country Club and Colonial Golf and Tennis Club.

Support for the tournament has been great since its inception in 2011, but now two courses are needed to fill the demand.  Both courses for the tournament will be shotgun starts with tee-off beginning at 8:00 AM at the Harrisburg Country Club and 8:30 AM at the Colonial Golf and Tennis Club.

The tournament benefits the 17 NCAA Division 3 Intercollegiate Athletic Programs at Penn State Harrisburg. Support from the tournament goes a far way to help offset the cost of essential equipment, team travel and other direct needs of the student-athetes at the University.  Support also goes to provide additional opportunities, such as tournaments and exclusive training for the student-athletes who thrive not only on the field, but in the classroom as well.

Last year, the tournament proceeds exceeded $80,000.  This year, the goal is to eclipse $100,000.

"As members of the Penn State Harrisburg community, we have a unique opportunity to support our student-athletes and help provide them with the best collegiate experience possible. Our student-athletes balance rigorous academic schedules, part time jobs, and extracurricular activities, as well as practices and competition throughout the academic year.  Today I ask for your help as we work to ensure the continued success of our teams. Please consider supporting this year’s tournament." - Penn State Harrisburg Athletic Director Rahsaan Carlton

The cost for individual golfers is $125 and $500 for a team of four. Non-golfers may attend lunch for $25, which will be held after the tournament is completed at approximately 2:30 p.m.  Online registration can be done HERE
